Delores Johnson, of Montevideo, died on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN at the age of 83. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Kathy Skoglund officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Delores "Del" Lorraine (Allen) Johnson was born on September 24, 1925 in Sleepy Eye, MN to William and Esther (Stockdill) Allen. She moved to the Montevideo area with her family as a small child and attended rural schools. On November 27, 1942 she was united in marriage to James R. Johnson in Montevideo. Before her retirement in 1992, she worked at the Ben Franklin store in Montevideo for over 23 years. She has been a resident of the Steeple Point Assisted Living in Osseo, MN for the past two months. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideoand enjoyed reading, watching television, crocheting and especially being with her family. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Heinle of Maple Grove, MN; a grandson, Chad Heinle and his wife Mollee of Eden Prairie, MN; 3 sisters: Fern Dirksen of Clara City, MN; Violet Underwood of Montevideo and Bernice Crosby of Apache Junction, AZ, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James in 1986; 3 brothers: Albert, Charles and Daniel Allen; 3 sisters: Betty Hoaas, Phyllis Bergo and Eldora Mickles; a son-in-law, Allen Heinle; 4 brothers-in-law: Ray Bergo, Harmon Underwood, Ben Dirksen and Wilfred Mickles and by 2 sisters-in-law: Ann Allen and Celie Allen.
