Delores “Dee” Sundlee, of Montevideo, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 86.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo, MN with Pastor Matt Philaya officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, May 17 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Delores Arlene (Thompson) Sundlee was born April 22, 1933 in Baxter Township to Elmer and Rose (Bubak) Thompson. She attended country school in Lac qui Parle County. On June 7, 1951 Dee was united in marriage to Kenneth Sundlee and they adopted three children: Kim, Kip, and Ketra. Dee worked as a CNA for the old hospital, Luther Haven, and Copper Glen and thoroughly enjoyed taking care of others.
Dee was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where for many years she was very active in the church circle and quilting groups. She was a loving mother who enjoyed running a farm household. Her passion was gardening and she enjoyed feeding her family from the garden. Dee also loved planting and tending her many flower gardens.
Dee is survived by her children: Kim (Carol) Sundlee, Montevideo, Kip (Marsha Franzen) Sundlee, Alexandria and Ketra (Paul) Sundlee Gardner, Elko, Nevada; grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Marnie, Cameron, Emily, Lauren, and William; and great-grandchildren: Leyla, Lillie, Heather, Brayson, and Liam.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2017; parents; and siblings: Eugene Thompson, Darlene Tostenson, Raymond Thompson and Virginia Thompson.
