Delwyn Thompson, of Montevideo, died on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, MN at the age of 76. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Chapel in Montevideo. Interment will be in Sunset memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Delwyn Thompson was born on March 25, 1937 in Windom, MN to George and Leona (Starr) Thompson. Del graduated from Henning High School in 1956. On October 13, 1958 he was united in marriage to Helen Arnold in Lewistown, PA. They lived in Maryland for a number of years while Del served in the Air Force. In 1966 they moved to Lansdale, PA, in 1970 to Milan, MN and in 1985 to Montevideo, MN. Del worked for the city of Milan before working as a jailer/dispatcher for Chippewa County. Del retired in 1995. He enjoyed fishing and hunting but he especially loved bowling.
He is survived by a son, Russell of Montevideo, MN; six brothers: Gary Thompson and his wife Jan of Luttrell, TN, David Thompson of Milan; Bob Thompson and his wife Luana of Rosemount, MN; Jon Thompson and his wife Cindy of Minneapolis, Michael Thompson and his wife Nancy of Lebanon, OR, and Gregg Thompson and his wife Laurie of Sioux Falls, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Helen on April 23, 1996; three brothers: Donald Thompson, Victor Thompson, and Bill Starr; and one sister, Mary Jo Thompson.
