Dennis Ferguson

Dennis Ferguson, of Montevideo, passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on August 24 , 2019 at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson from cancer at the age of 81.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 4,  11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 321 N 5th St, Montevideo.  Visitation will be one half hour prior to service, luncheon to follow service.  Interment in Pipestone at the Old Woodlawn Cemetery.

Dennis Lee Ferguson was born on June 6, 1938 in Marshall, MN to Stanley & Borghild (Grong) Ferguson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  He attended and graduated from Pipestone High School in 1956. He served his country in the U.S. Army.  He married Elaine on September 9, 1967. Together, they raised their wonderful family.

Dennis was a semi owner/operator and enjoyed the life of the open road.  Dennis and Elaine drove team for many years after the children were grown. His interest in politics was well known as he loved discussing it.  He had wide interests in books, music and life in general.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Elaine; his children: Micki  (Dick) Tschida of St. Paul, MN, Cory (Jackie) Ferguson of East Bethel, MN, Monte (Kim) Ferguson of Oak Grove, MN, Patti Ferguson (Chuck Corr) of Blaine, MN; his much loved grandchildren, Tyler & Dylan Tschida, Kara & Logan (Melissa) Ferguson, Amber, Justin & Mitchell Ferguson and Tandra Ferguson; siblings:  Andi Adams of MN, Jackie Ferguson (Bob Young) of FL, Rod Grant of CA; along with extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley & Borghild Ferguson, his sister Karen Shellum and his brother Erik Ferguson.
