Dennis Norby or rural Watson died on Sunday, August 9, 1998 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 65.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, August 12, 1998 at 1:30 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Dennis Norby was born on January 21, 1933 in Kragero Township of Chippewa County, Minnesota to Arthur and Inga (Canton) Norby. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, attended rural schools and graduated from Milan High School in 1950. On June 1, 1952 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Torrey at the Montevideo Methodist Church. He farmed for most of his adult life in Tunsberg Township. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church for many years and later was a member of Immanuel Lutheran. He enjoyed his grandchildren, and raising and riding horses.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two daughters: Debbie Klein and her husband David of Helena, MT and Lori Norby and partner Jim Franchi of Boulder, MT; one son, David Norby and his wife Nancy (Hanna) of Healy, KS; three grandchildren: Jessica Klein, Ashley Norby, and Matthew Norby; brothers and sisters: Grace Johnson of Appleton, MN, Harlan Norby of Montevideo, Doris Hagenstad of Montevideo, Wally Norby of Bellingham, MN, Lorraine Fundingsland of New London, MN, Roland Norby of Holloway, MN, Mary Lou Beyer of Benson, MN, and Dale Norby of Point Pleasant, NJ; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
