DeWayne Williamson, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in New Brighton, MN at the age of 77 . Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Gwen Bohlke officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo. Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening with the family present from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. DeWayne Dayton Williamson was born on January 16, 1935 in Grace Township of Chippewa Co., MN to Dayton and Orel (Gullord) Williamson. He was baptized and confirmed as a Methodist, attended rural schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army. On September 5, 1962 he was united in marriage to Toni McRoden at Rosewood Methodist Church. He farmed in Sparta Township until retiring in 1997. He was a member of Rosewood Methodist Church and was currently a member of the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, inventing new ways of doing things and especially enjoyed time with his family. He is survived by his wife Toni; three sons: Craig (and Janet) Williamson of New Brighton, MN; Clay Williamson of Minneapolis, MN and Clark (and Lenna) Williamson of Broomfield, CO; three grandchildren: Devin, Brittney and Larissa; a brother, LeRoy (and Carol) Williamson of Montevideo, MN; two sisters: Karen (and DeWayne)Hermanson of Boyd, MN and Marie (and Merrell) Dieken of Willmar, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
