Diane Kay Hofteig

Diane Hofteig, of Granite Falls, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Avera Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 78.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the Hofteig Residence (1005 Prentice St., Granite Falls, MN, 56241)

Diane was born on June 27th, 1946 in Clarkfield, MN to Lester and Ardeth Dotseth. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1964. Diane and Todd Hofteig were married in 1964 at Hazel Run Lutheran. They had two children, Michelle and Mark. Diane worked as a special education paraprofessional for 30 years at Granite Falls Schools. 

Diane was a beautiful, loving woman who will be remembered by her family and friends for being a caring support system and attentive listener. Conversations with her were effortless and her smile was contagious. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Diane enjoyed shopping and had a timeless sense of fashion. She had a passion for making her home beautiful and was a skilled gardener. Above all else, she treasured the time with her loved ones, always staying in contact and never missing an event. Her selfless love and caring nature will always be remembered by the many lives she touched. 

Survivors include her husband, Todd Hofteig, her half-sister; Gail Stark, her granddaughters; Megan (Tanner) Hanke and Annabelle Hofteig, her great-grandson; Holden Hanke, her son-in-law; Tom Furnstahl, and her daughter-in-law; Angela Hofteig.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Ardeth Dotseth, her half-sister Sharon Dyrdahl, her daughter Michelle Hofteig-Furnstahl, and her son Mark Hofteig.
