Divina Louise (Stuart) Reeves

Divina Reeves, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Home Front II in Montevideo at the age of 83.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Kingdom Hall in Montevideo. Scott Howard will be officiating.

Divina Louise (Stuart) Reeves was born on September 9, 1922 in Cartwright, Manitoba, Canada to James and Mary Ann (McKelvie) Stuart. When she was a young girl the family moved to a farm near Lorette, Manitoba.  She attended school in Lorette and graduated in 1940.  Following her graduation, she moved to Winnipeg and stayed with and kept house for an elderly aunt. In early 1943 she met Stanley Reeves, who was serving in the British Royal Air Force and was training as a navigator at the air base in Winnipeg. After his training was completed and he returned to England, they kept up correspondence.   On April 14, 1946 she was united in marriage to Stanley Reeves at St. Andrew’s Church in Catford, a suburb of London, England. They lived in Catford until he received his discharge from the Royal Air Force in 1947.  They returned to Canada in 1948, living in Winnipeg until 1956.  Stanley was offered a job with a U.S. insurance company, necessitating a move to Mankato, MN.  In September of 1960 they moved to Montevideo, MN, where they have resided since.  In 2003, Divina moved to Home Front II in Montevideo. She was a member of Kingdom Hall and enjoyed sewing and baking.

She is survived by her husband, Stan and a daughter, Marianne Reeves of Montevideo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Stuart; and by four sisters: Evelyn, Velma, Jean and Violet.
