Donald DuFrane, of Montevideo, died Monday, November 7, 2022 at his home in Montevideo at the age of 79.

Memorial services will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.

Memorials are preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Donald DuFrane was born June 5, 1943 in Ramsey County, ND to Frank and Rosalie (Grant) DuFrane. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith. Donald attended grade school in Whapeton, ND until 8th grade. He then moved to the Twin Cities where he attended Mechanic Arts High School. After his time in the Twin Cities, Donald moved to various places such as Montana, Kansas, and California. Eventually he found his home back in Minnesota. Donald was united in marriage to Beverly Swenson on June 6, 1964 and to this union five children were born. In 1991 Donald met Monica Lynner who he spent over 30 years with.

Donald worked various jobs throughout life, he owned his own truck service hauling grain, and most recently crushing/hauling cars at Flinn’s Salvage in Montevideo. He never took anything for granted and cherished the simple things in life such as food, clothing, and shelter. Donald had a generous spirit and a big heart. He enjoyed wood working, cooking, NASCAR, going to the casino, and watching football. Most of all Donald enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends and will be missed dearly by all.

He is survived by his life partner, Monica Lynner; children: Eric (Amanda) DuFrane of Mounds View, Joseph (Michele) DuFrane of Bird Island, Paul (BettyJo) DuFrane of Madison, Katie (Robert) Gervais of Currie, Kathie (Mikey) Arndorfer of Dilworth, Chad Lynner of Montevideo; and daughter-in-law, Lisa DuFrane of Dawson; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Sherri) DuFrane of St. Paul Park; daughter, Marnie Case; and several extended family and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chris DuFrane; brother, Frank DuFrane; and sisters, Marie Williams and Shirley Smith.
