Donald Ochsendorf, of Dawson, died Monday, March 22, 2021 at his home in Dawson at the age of 66.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a graveside service to follow at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Dawson starting at 4:15 PM.
Donald Elmer Ochsendorf was born March 4, 1955 in Dawson, MN to Elmer “Bud” and Mary (Hawkinson) Ochsendorf. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Don attended and graduated from Dawson High School, and after high school he attended college in Morris, MN. He moved back to Dawson, where he worked for Dawson Mills, and later worked for Friendship Homes in Montevideo, and American Surplus (Ice Castle) until his retirement in March of 2020.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking drives. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins, and would watch their games regularly, with him even getting to a few in his lifetime. One of Don's favorite summer past times was watching Scott playing baseball with the Dawson Drakes. He was a loving father and grandfather, never missing an opportunity to tell his kids and grandkids how much he loved them and how proud he was of them. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Don is survived by his daughter Cori (Rick) Bothun, of Dawson; son, Scott Ochsendorf, of Dawson; grandchildren, Drake and Dain Polhamus, Brody and Shay Bothun, and Reese Ochsendorf; and a sister, Pam Peterson, of Becker, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Cindy and Pauline Ochsendorf.
