Donald Knight, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, August 9, 1998 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 61.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 13, 1998 at 1:30 PM at United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Robert Ford officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Donald James Knight was born on October 16, 1936 in Sparta Township of Chippewa County, MN to Willard and Pauline (Erickson) Knight. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo and attended Montevideo Public Schools. He served in the Minnesota National Guard for a number of years as a young man. On August 8, 1959 he was united in marriage to Ardis Krugerud at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He was a lifelong resident of Montevideo and has been employed by the Chippewa Co. Highway Department for many years. He enjoyed his family and friends, farming, woodworking, camping, and in later years a lake home near Alexandria. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Ardis; four children: Karla Boerner and her husband Dan of Marshall, MN, Brian Knight and his wife Jill of Buffalo, MN, Kevin Knight and his wife Nancy of Alexandria, MN, and Brad Knight of Montevideo, MN; four grandchildren: Heather and Justin Winters and Brandon and Brittney Knight; two brothers: Warren Knight and his wife Paula of Montevideo, MN and Paul Knight and his wife Margaret of Coon Rapids, MN; two sisters: Genoa Desalvo and her husband Lucian of Plymouth, MN and Jean Fraasch and her husband Forrest of Lancaster, CA; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, Wendell earlier this year.
