Donald Burg, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 71.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 28, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating. Burial will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 6-7:00 P.M.
Donald LeVern Burg was born January 12, 1930 at Montevideo, MN the son of Gilbert and Mabel (Lynne) Burg. He was baptized February 13, 1930 at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and confirmed May 21, 1944 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Donald graduated from Montevideo High School in 1948 and served in the US Army from 1948 until 1951. Don lived in Sioux Falls, SD from 1951 until 1995 where he worked at House of Reinhart and Locke Auto Electric. He then moved to Montevideo and worked part-time at NAPA until his health would not allow him to do so. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Sioux Falls and Montevideo. Don enjoyed reading and cars.
He is survived by on daughter, Ann Marie Burg of Sioux Falls, SD; three brothers: Eugene (Wilma) Burg of Anderson, IN, W. Gale (Gloria) Burg of Dawson, MN, and Joe (Dorene) Burg of Lake Benton, MN; four sisters: Carole Halverson of Marshall, MN, Kathleen Workman of Sioux Falls, SD, Bonnie (Duane) Hill of Marshall, MN, and Rebecca (Daryl) Hilfers of Worthington, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Mavis Schwan; and one niece, Nita Buckley.
