Donald R. Sheldon

Donald Sheldon, of Boyd, MN, passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2022 at Essentia Health – Fargo at the age of 78.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Baxter, rural Montevideo. Rev. Matt Danielson will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Don was born on June 22, 1944 in Spirit Lake, IA to Fred and Loretta (Radzik) Sheldon. He spent his childhood years in Wheaton, MN where he graduated high school. He was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning to the United States he lived in Hopkins, MN where he met his wife, Janice. Soon after, they moved to the current area where they have lived for more than fifty years.

He enjoyed visiting with friends, family, and neighbors at the local church suppers, county fairs, parades, or even running errands. Don was a farmer at heart and always enjoyed time on the tractor. He truly enjoyed potlucks and playing cards with others.

Don is survived by his children: daughter, Donna (Chris and children), son, Jim (Susan and children); siblings: Ken, Dorothy, and Jerry; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; parents, Fred and Loretta; and many extended family members and friends.
