Donna Anderson

Donna Anderson, of Clara City, died Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Clara City Assisted Living at the age of 88.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Donna Jean (Speh) Anderson passed away on April 20, 2025 at the age of 88 at the Clara City Senior Living Center. Donna was born on October 25, 1936 in Union County, South Dakota. Her parents along with Donna, older sister Delores and younger brother Duane moved to Balaton, Minnesota in 1943 where her parents purchased a farm in Murray County.

Her education consisted of attending District 8 rural school, attending Balaton High School graduating in 1955. Donna attended Union College in Lincon Nebraska. Later in life, Donna attended Normandale Community College and Hennepin County Vo-Tech.

She worked for several firms, and was employed for 31 years at Ford-McNutt glass company located in Minneapolis, Minnesota as the Corporate Secretary.

She was wedded to Dennis Anderson on November 12, 1977. They built their home and resided in Bloomington, Minnesota. Denny and her enjoyed the outdoors, fishing many lakes in Minnesota and Lake of the Woods in Canada. They also enjoyed hunting migratory waterfowl and upland game birds. Donna enjoyed surfing the net, shopping, hardanger, knitting, and her pet dogs. Donna’s favorite snacks were ice cream, Cheetos, Twix Bars, and Jelly Beans.

She was moved to the Clara City Senior Living Center in October of 2024 where she resided until her death.

In her Bible, given to Donna by her parents at the age of 10, she made a notation on March 15, 1957, “Tonight I made a covenant with my Jesus that I will trust in him and when he comes, I’ll be ready to go home with him”. On November 19, 2000 she was baptized in Grace Church in Eden Prairie where she regularly attended.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Margie Speh, her husband Denny Anderson, and a niece Caryn (Speh) Ekhoff. She is survived by her sisters Delores Speh, Dorinda Speh, brothers Duane (Shirley) Speh, Dwight (Ruth) Speh, nieces Cheryl (Speh) Martinez, Robyn (Speh) Aslesen, nephews Peter (Carrie) Speh, Brian (Diem) Speh and Cory (Sandra) Speh, 6 great nieces, 6 great nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews.
