Donna Jean Haugen

November 30, 1949 — March 11, 2017

Donna Haugen of Milan died on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 67.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday March 15, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Kristine Isder officiating.  Burial will be in the Kviteseid Lutheran-Milan Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with a prayer service to be held at 7 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Donna (Nelson) Haugen was born on November 30, 1949 in Montevideo to Hilmar and Luella (Septon) Nelson.  She attended rural school and graduated from Milan in 1967.  She married Lee Haugen on June 14, 1970 at Mandt Lutheran Church.  They lived in California, Milan, Twin Cities and Big Bend eventually moving back to Milan in the late 1990's.  They had two children: Chris and Stacey.

Donna worked at Avicenna Innovex in Montevideo.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and playing buck.

Donna is survived by her husband, Lee; her children: Chris (Stacy) Haugen of Montevideo and Stacey (Rob) Crawshaw of Hampton, VA; three grandchildren: Taylor, Wyatt, and Brylee; a brother, Harlan Nelson of Lebanon, MO; sisters: Bev Moen of Montevideo, Leone (Gerry) Struxness of Raymond, MN and Oma (Bob) Birgenheier of Sheridan, WY; in-laws: Lorrie Ehrenberg of Madison, MN, Peggy (Larry) Ascheman of Breckenridge, MN, Jeanne (Dale) Ennen of Donnelly, MN, Nancy (Marty) Martinez of Minneota, MN, and Sheila (Trevor) Wendel of LaMoure, ND; as well as extended family and friends.

She was preceded by her parents: Hilmar and Luella Nelson and a brother, Clifford in infancy.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donation in memory of Donna Haugen for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
