Donna Mickels, of Maynard, died on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at her home in Maynard, at the age of 75. Memorial Services will be conducted on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Brad Larson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the services at the church. Donna Faye (Hanen) Mickels was born on March 12, 1935 in Kellogg, IA to William and Vera (Uttermark) Hanen. She moved to the Clara City, MN area as a child , was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City and attended Clara City Public Schools. On November 22, 1952 she was united in marriage to Leander Mickels in Watson, MN. They lived in the Clara City, Montevideo, Gluek, and Maynard areas. She enjoyed collecting music boxes and tea pots, cooking, baking, spending time at the casino and spending the holidays with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Leander; children: Gary Mickels and special friend Bonnie Wrobleski of Benson, MN; Dennis Mickels of Vilonia, AR; Vernon Mickels and his wife Carmen of Bangor, WI; and Ricky Mickels and special friend Mary Regnier of Maynard, MN; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; a brother, Ron Hanen and his wife LaVonne of Milan, MN; sisters: Dorothy (and Marlyn) Marquardt of Belgrade, MN; June Bluhm of Monticello, MN; Joyce (and Kenny) VanHeuvlen of Kerkhoven, MN; Moni (and Dick) Welch of Kerkhoven, MN; Mitzi (and Norm) Tanner of New London, MN and Mary Hatlestad of Kerkhoven, MN; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Billy Hanen; two brothers-in-law, a niece and a nephew.
