Donovan Adamson, of rural Montevideo, died Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his home at the age of 77.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM at United Methodist Church in Montevideo.  Pastor Sam Kautz will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Anderson – TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:45 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Donovan Lee Adamson was born March 11, 1945 in Montevideo, MN to Herbert and June (Nelson) Adamson.  He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith.  Donovan attended and graduated from Montevideo High School and after high school he attended Dunwoody College in Minneapolis.  He enlisted in the United States National Guard serving from 1965 – 1971.  Donovan was united in marriage to Janet Eekhoff on August 15, 1970 in Montevideo, MN and to this union three children were born.  They made their home near Montevideo, where Donovan worked as a mechanic for over 20 years at Ree Motors & Adams Oldsmobile. During his time as a mechanic Donovan helped farm on the family farm, and after his father retired, he went to farming full time.

Donovan enjoyed traveling and took many trips to Northern Minnesota and traveled to Hawaii many times.  He loved spending time on Maple Lake with his family where he would water ski and often drive the boat while on the lake.  Donovan was involved in stock car racing in Montevideo and Madison where he was a race official for many years.  He also had an interest in model trains and traveled to many shows.

Donovan is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Chad Adamson of Montevideo, Heather (Brian) Olsen of Jordan, MN, and Christopher Adamson of Montevideo; grandchildren, Brett, Robert and Austin; sister, Eulala (Jim) Goodwin; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dean Adamson.
