Doris Angrimson, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at Homefront in Montevideo at the age of 88.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald McKee officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family from 6-7:30 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Doris Elvira (Ovre) Angrimson was born on April 11, 1915 on a farm in Big Bend Township of Chippewa County, MN to Ben and Ida (Allickson) Ovre. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Watson and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1931. She continued her education with teacher training classes in Montevideo. On March 23, 1932 she was united in marriage to Dedrick Angrimson at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Claudia Circle, and the VFW Auxiliary. Her cooking and baking was enjoyed by family and friends. Sewing, crocheting afghans, quilting, nurturing flowers indoors and out, crossword puzzles, card playing, oil painting and daily journaling were among her many interests. She was also very attuned to the daily local and world news and politics. Doris and Dick spent several winters in Arizona where they met and cherished friends from all walks of life. Family, neighbors and friends were frequent visitors in her home and enjoyed her hospitality. A constant companion when she was alone was her cat, Snoopy.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Angrimson and his wife Editha of Milan, MN; a daughter, Donna Kemen and her husband Maynard of Dawson, MN; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Nagel of Montevideo; a brother, Gifford Ovre and his wife Signe of St. Paul, MN as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dick in 1988, a son, Wayne Angrimson, a daughter, Virginia Johnson and a brother Winton Ovre.
