Doris Olson passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 86.
Memorial graveside services will be held on Saturday June 9, 2018 at 1:30 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Raymond Minnesota.
Doris Delores (Kimpling) Olson was born at home in Chippewa County on December 23, 1930 to Jesse and Gertrude (Heike) Kimpling. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City, Minnesota. Doris Graduated from Maynard High school in 1948. She later on married Francis Hayunga who passed away on October 1, 2000. Doris then married Wallace Olson on June 25, 2011 who passed away on January 12, 2015.
Doris worked as a bookkeeper for 11 years at the Raymond Co-op, and then later as a cashier for the Farmers State Bank of Raymond for 32 years. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Raymond where she was active in Ladies Aide, Bible Study, and the Altar Guild. She also enjoyed quilting days at church and helped out in the church office.
Doris spent many summers at Green Lake Bible Camp as Grandma to home sick children. She also enjoyed weekends spent at her lake cottage on Norway Lake for 45 years.
Doris is survived by her brothers: Gus (Donna) Kimpling of Virginia, MN and Vern (Chris) Kimpling of Duluth, MN; and her step-children: Jerry (Marge) Olson of Danvers, MN, Ken (Carol) Olson of Milan, MN, Deb Munsterman of Lake Norden, SD, and Rick (Kim) Olson of Milan, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis in 2000; husband, Wallace in 2011; and her step-son-in-law, Robert Munsterman.
