Doris Vesta, of Montevideo, died on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 87. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Doris LuElla (Westgaard) Vesta was born on November 1, 1922 in Riverside Township, Lac qui Parle Count, MN the daughter of Andrew and Hilma (Lee) Westgaard. She attended school and grew to adulthood there. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson. On December 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Homer Vesta at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson, MN. They farmed in the Boyd area for over 40 years before retiring and moving into Montevideo in 1990. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd. She is survived by two sisters: Verna Ronning of Northfield, MN and Alyce (Donald) Lukken of Clarkfield, MN; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer July 10, 2008; three sisters: Helen Bothun, Inez Craigmile, and Edna Ness; and three brothers: Adolph, Louis, and Ervin Westgaard.
