Dorothea Robinson, of Montevideo,Mn. died on Thursday December 29, 1994 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, Mn. at the age of 87. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday December 31, 1994 at 1:00P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Harold Knutson officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Dorothea Mae (Marholz) Robinson was born on January 25, 1907 in Montevideo, Mn. to John and Emma(Mason) Marholz. She grew up in Montevideo and attended Montevideo schools. On September 24, 1924 she was united in marriage to Alva Robinson in Havelock Township of Chippewa Co., Minnesota. The later moved to Menomonie, Wi. for a couple of years, before moving back to Montevideo. In 1952 they moved to Sioux Falls,SD and managed the Belleview Apts. She owned and operated a cafe in Harrisburg, SD. She moved back to Montevideo in the mid 1960's and has lived there since. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home since August, 1993. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Dorcas Circle, and the Parkview Tower Songbirds.
She is survived by daughters - Grace Erickson of Redwood Falls, Mn.; Betty (Carl) Naten of Montrose, Co.; Esther Saue of Appleton,Mn. ; and Shirley (Harry) Meyer of Lennox, SD; 25 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 1 great, great, grandchild; by sisters - Margaret (Glen) Jencks of Brea, Ca. and Hazel (Clayton) Keifer of Montevideo; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Alva in 1969, by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 grandsons, and a granddaughter.
