Dorothy died on Thursday evening, May 27, 2010, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, at the age of 84. Funeral was at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 1, at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastors Kendall Stelter and Lindsay Stolen officiating; scriptures lessons were Psalm 100, Philippians 4:4-9 and John 6:35-40; organist, Jeanne Peterson accompanied the hymns "Children of the Heavenly Father", "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art;" Scott Miller was an honorary and active casketbearers were Ray Anderson, Alan Miller, Gary Miller, Jerry Miller, Paul Miller and Ron Miller. Interment was is Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was on Monday, May 31, from 5-7 PM with a closing prayer service at 7 PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Dorothy Lillian Jordahl was born on June 26, 1925, on her parents farm in Oshkosh Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Dawson Covenant Church in rural Dawson. She attended at District 25, District 38 (Windy Hill) and Dawson High School through the ninth grade. She lived on the farm in Oshkosh Township and another farm in Maxwell Township until her marriage to Arne Jordahl on February 22, 1945. To this union, Carol and Jon were born. They farmed in Cerro Gordo and Providence Townships, and after retiring from farming, they moved into a home in Dawson and later into the Prairie West Apartments. Dorothy loved to have company, play cards, sew, grow flowers, and just have fun! Her family was very important to her, and she was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Arne of Dawson; son, Jon Jordahl and wife, Joyce of Mounds View; grandson, Todd Jordahl of Roseville; sister, Myrtle (Wesley) Anderson of Dawson; sister-in-law, Ann Miller of Madison; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, other family and many friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Carol Joyce on September 1, 1954, from cystic fibrosis; and brothers: Loyd Miller and Lowell Miller and his wife, Melvern. Blessed be her memory.
