Dorothy Lenox, of Montevideo, died on Saturday November 9, 1996 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 91.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday November 13, 1996 at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Welander officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Anderson Funeral Home.
Dorothy Marie Lenox was born on October 8, 1905 in Dallas Center, IA to John and Jemima (Cox) Lenox. She attended schools in Iowa and moved to the Montevideo, MN area as a young woman. She worked at the TB Sanitorium in Granite Falls, MN and the Glenwood and St. Cloud Hospitals before completing her LPN work at the Chicago School of Nursing in 1952. She worked as a nurse at the Minnesota Veterans Home until retiring in 1973. Following her retirement she lived in Minneapolis for several years and near Willmar, MN for about 10 years before moving to Montevideo in 1989. She was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home. She was a member of Calvery Baptist Church and had been active in the Kandiyohi Co. Senior Citizens.
She is survived by nieces - Shirley (and Chester) Kalmoe; Virginia (and Joe) Blakley; Arlene Farlowe; Valeta (and Nolan) Childers; and Ardis Mathews; by nephews - Merlyn (and Lavon) Lenox; Carl (and Betty) Blossy; and Dan (and Nancy) Mathews; as well as by numerous grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 9 brothers and sisters.
