Dorothy Wik, of Watson, died on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 77. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Watson Lutheran Church in Watson with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and with the family present from 6 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Dorothy Thelma Tomina (Olson) Wik was born on February 1, 1931 in Morton, MN to Sander and Mabel (Hanson) Olson. She was baptized in Morton and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She attended school in Franklin, MN and Montevideo. On October 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to Roger Wik at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parsonage in Montevideo. She was a member of Watson Lutheran Church and its women's group. She enjoyed crafts, reading and gardening. She especially loved to grow roses and to make wreathes and other designs. She is survived by: a son, Bradford Wik and his wife Janis of Watson, MN; two daughters: Cheryl Flinn and her husband Donald of Aberdeen, SD and Madeline Nielsen and her husband Rodney of Watson, MN; four granddaughters: Jackie (Robert) Lefforge, Deenna and Jessica Anspach and Tessa Jo Fossen; a great-granddaughter, Grace Lefforge; a brother, Richard (and Delores) Olson of Montevideo; a sister-in-law, Janice Helbling of St. Cloud, MN; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger in 2006; two sons, Joel and one in infancy; an infant daughter, Jean; two brothers: John and Floyd Olson; a sister, Marlys Sandberg; a brother-in-law, Palmer Sandberg; and a sister-in-law, Delores Olson.
