Doryce Farmen, of Dawson, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Johnson Memorial Health Services in Dawson at the age of 96.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church near Dawson. Pastor Bruce Bringle will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Doryce Elaine Moen was born October 6, 1926 in Madison, MN to Oscar and Ella (Huseby) Moen. She was baptized and confirmed at Hegre Lutheran Church. Doryce attended and graduated from Madison High School. She was united in marriage to Harlan Farmen on December 27, 1945 at Hegre Lutheran Church. They made their home near Dawson, and in 1985 they moved into Dawson. Doryce worked at the Lac qui Parle County Recorder’s Office for over 20 years. She was an active member of Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church where she helped with Ladies’ Aid, Sunday school and quilting. Doryce was an exceptional cook and baker and made many treats and meals with her talents. She also enjoyed camping, sewing, and babysitting her grandchildren over the years.
Doryce is survived by her sons, Richard (Deb) Farmen and Steven Farmen both of Dawson; grandchildren: Tanya (George) Thesing, Kayla (Matt) Viessman and Jacob Farmen (Haley) all of Dawson, and Shawn Farmen of North Platte, NE; great-grandchildren: Rylin, Ragan, Tyler, Gannon and Grady; great-great-grandchild, Tinley; sister, Carol Stradinger; brother, Newton Moen; and other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan; four infant children: Janet Marie, Beverly Ann, Mary Helen, and Marlin Ordell; sisters, Loretta and Arla; brother, Newman; and other extended family and friends.
