Douglas Myers

Douglas Myers died Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Meadow Lane Care Center in Benson at the age of 70.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5 - 7:00 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

Douglas Myers was born in Dawson, MN on June 25, 1952 to Virgil and Dorothy (Linde) Myers. Doug attended Dawson High School. After graduation, he began his career as a printer for a local newspaper, a job he held for many years. Doug's dedication to his work and his attention to detail made him a valued employee and a respected member of the community.  Doug married Susan Ashling on December 30, 1972.  They had two sons together.  They made their home in Ortonville and Morris before moving back to Dawson in 1979.  In the early 2000's the family lived in Alexandria for a few years but returned to Dawson.

Doug is survived by his sons: Shane Myers of Dawson, MN and Jesse (Jen) Myers of Appleton, MN; six grandchildren: Abbygail (Zach Powelson), Megan, Ethan, Mitchell, Gage, and Cameron; two great-grandchildren: Penelope and Stella; siblings: Dave (Belinda) Myers of Dawson, MN, and Deb Gebur of Dawson, MN; mother-in-law, Claire Ashling; brother-in-law, Lannie (Brenda) Ashling; sisters-in-law: Cindy Ashling and Diane Ashling; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan; his parents, Virgil and Dorothy Myers; father-in-law, Loren Ashling; and his brothers-in-law: James Gebur, Gary Ashling and Larry Ashling.
