Duane Conrad Kittelson

April 26, 1934 — January 9, 1996

Montevideo

Duane Kittelson, of rural Montevideo, died on Tuesday January 9, 1996 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 61.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday January 13 at 1:30 PM at the Bergen Lutheran Church with Rev. David Mesner officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Duane Conrad Kittelson was born on April 26, 1934 in Yellow Medicine Co., MN to Conrad and Inga (Danielson) Kittelson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church.  He attended rural schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1952.  He farmed in Yellow Medicine Co. for many years.  On February 19, 1972 he was united in marriage to Avis Moe.  In 1989 they moved to Lac Qui Parle Co and he retired from farming in 1990.  He was a lifelong member of Bergen Lutheran Church.  He was a member of the Sons of Norway, was an avid bowler,  and was a life member of the Chippewa Co. Historical Society.

He is survived by his wife Avis; by children - Galen Kittelson of Granite Falls, MN;  Ronnie Kittelson and his wife Lorie of Granite Falls, MN;  Larry Kittelson and his wife Carmen of Wyoming; and Debbie Rich of Galveston, TX; by step-children - Marcella Hagen and her husband Robert of Montevideo, MN;  Carol Smith and her husband Arnold of Montevideo, MN; Luetta Ellingson and husband Gregory of Milan, MN; Bruce Moe and his wife Wendy of Brainerd, MN; Paul Moe and his wife Brenda of Boyd, MN; Gary Moe and his wife Katharine of Alexandria, MN; and Kevin Moe and special friend Annie Jenniges of Montevideo, MN; by 27 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; by a sister - Mavis Hollenbeck and her husband Robert of Mankato, MN; and by a step-brother - Jim Lageson and his wife Addie of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece and a nephew.
