Duane Pederson

October 24, 1937 — March 8, 1994

Duane Pederson, 56, of Maynard died March 8, 1994 at the Granite Falls Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, at 11:00 A.M. at Maynard Lutheran Church.  Rev. Ronald Duty will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.

Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.

Duane Pederson was born October 24, 1937 in Chippewa County, MN the son of Richard and Ina (Reese) Pederson.  He attended school and grew to adulthood in the Maynard area.   Duane was united in marriage with Ruth Schimming on March 26, 1966 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart.  He was in the US Army from December 16, 1960 until his discharge November 15, 1962 serving in France and Germany .  Duane worked for Terwisscha Construction and Thorstad Construction and was currently employed with Gibson Trucking.  He was a member of Maynard Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post of Maynard.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons: Todd of Minneapolis, MN and Thomas serving in the Navy on the USS GRASP; his mother, Ina Pederson of Clara City, MN; two brothers: Paul and his wife Maxine of Grand Rapids, MN and Earl and his wife Pat of Renville, MN; two sisters: Beryl Porter of Mankato, MN and Carol Billiar of North Mankato, MN; two half-brothers: Harold and Donna Mae Pederson of Hamel, MN and Don and Sue Pederson of Aitken, MN; one half-sister, Ruth Aalfs of Clara City, MN; one half-sister-in-law, Betsy Pederson of Lansdowne, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his son, Tony; his father, Richard C.; one brother Glenn; and one half-brother, Richard F.
