Earl Cummings, of Montevideo, died on Saturday May 6, 1995 at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 85.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday May 9 , 1995 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Loren Kruse officiating. Burial will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Earl Cummings was born on August 7, 1909 in Mt. Carroll, IL to Wellman & Ella Cummings. He was united in marriage to Martha Langbecker on October 19, 1934 in Wheaton, MN. He was a bulk oil driver in Montevideo for 47 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church , was a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent and had served as an Elder for many years. He was a member of the Montevideo Fire Dept. for 23 years, sang in the Fiesta City Chorus for 17 years, was a member of the saddle club and was a member of the Lions Club.
He is survived by a daughter - Marilyn Lovsness of Aitkin, MN.; by a son - Earl Dean of Mountain Home, ID; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; by a brother - Dwain Cummings of Spring Lake, MI.; and by sisters - Jen Fielding of Cedar Falls, IA; Sylvia Brooks of Waterloo, IA; Isabell Bunn of Oceanside, CA; Marcella Kline of National City, CA; Kate Thompson of Denver, CO and Geneva Madsen of Rosholt, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Martha in November of 1994, by a brother - Dwight Cummings, and by a sister - Margaret Martinson.
