Earl Schall

Earl Schall, of Montevideo, died Sunday May 22 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 77.  Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday May 25 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church  in Montevideo with Fr. Jerry Paulson the celebrant.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be after 4:00 PM with a prayer vigil at 7:00 PM, all at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Montevideo.  Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Earl Ambrose Schall was born on October 18, 1916 in Chippewa Co., Minnesota to John and Augusta Schall.  He grew up in Montevideo, attended St. Josephs Catholic School and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1934.  On July 19, 1941 he was united in marriage to Mary Tammen at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Montevideo. He served in the United States Air Force from October,1942 until December, 1945.  He served as a rural mail carrier for many years before retiring in 1979.  He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus; American Legion; VFW; DAV; Montevideo Country Club; and the Rural Carriers Association.

He is survived by his wife - Mary; by daughters - Barbara(Dennis) Marble of Eden Prairie, Mn.; and Nancy Hofbauer of Minnetonka, Mn.; by a son - Michael (Genelle) Schall of Hutchinson, Mn.; 6 grandchildren; by sisters - Florence Gulden of Montevideo and Hazel Foushee of Woodland Park, Co.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by brothers Clarence and Arthur.
