Earle Schoep, 83, Mitchell, SD, died in hospice care in Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday, May 25, 2024. During his last days, his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other family and friends enjoyed reminiscing and playing cards.

Earle Schoep was born May 27, 1940 in Inwood, Iowa, to John and Marian (Feekes) Schoep. The family later relocated to a farm near Maynard, MN, where he graduated from Maynard High School. Earle enjoyed the family farm and gravel business.  On July 26, 1961, he married Kathleen Ruth Tensen in Brooten, MN. During their 63 years together, they enjoyed camping with family, traveling, and working alongside each other. Earle's can-do attitude showed through in whatever he tackled: driving truck, the diaper service, beekeeping, train engineer for the sugar beet company, and mechanical work on big equipment in Clara City, Maynard, and Montevideo, MN. When asked, he said his favorite work was driving gravel truck and dipping out of the gravel pit with the old crane. He enjoyed his hobbies as hard as he worked. Whether camping, playing cards, traveling, restoring repairable cars, golfing, or fishing, his infectious smile will be remembered.  Integrated through all of this were his faith and his family. If there was an event for either, two things were sure--Earle would be there and he'd be early!  Time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy.

His memory will live on through his wife, Kathy, and his three children: Mary (Bill) Morgan of Sioux Falls, SD; Darrell (Julie) Schoep of Clara City, MN; and Doreen (Curt) Brands of Mitchell, SD;  grandchildren: Derek (Allyson) Morgan, Jessica (Jason) Martens, Ben Schoep, Andi (fiancé Ryan) Schoep, Drake (Sylvia) Brands, Creyton Brands, and Regan Brands; great-grandchildren : Garpan, Deizion, Berklee, and Lexington Martens, and Charlie Brands; his siblings: Judy (Milt) Pennings, Marlin (JoAnn) Schoep, Violet Poppen, Berdette (Cristina) Schoep, Eugene "Gene" (Tammy) Schoep, Arvin (Nancy) Schoep, Faith (Paul) Jara, Verlyn (Cindy) Schoep, Jay (Brenda) Schoep, Phillip (Robin) Schoep;  sister-in-law, Delores (Don) Schoep: and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Jasper (Darleen) Schoep, Donald Schoep, and Harriet (LeRoy) Nordby.
