Earlynn "Lynn" Larson, of Montevideo, died on Monday, March 24, 1997 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Wayzata, MN at the age of 79.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 27, 1997 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening, with the family from 7 - 8 PM and with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Earlynn Hattie (Hocum) Larson was born on December 28, 1917 in Montevideo, Minnesota to Milton and Inga (Holm) Hocum. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She attended Montevideo schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1935. She attended Windom College in Montevideo for two years. On November 1, 1942 she was united in marriage to Alfred C. Larson in San Antonio, TX. She lived most of her life in the Montevideo area until moving to the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Wayzata, MN in November of 1994. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and active in its women's groups. She was an avid bridge player and reader and enjoyed bowling, golf, knitting and cooking.
She is survived by sons - Don Larson and his wife Ann of St. Louis Park, MN; and Bryce Larson and his wife Cheryl Kintop of Bloomington, MN; by daughters - Lynn Larson and her husband James Rekow of Plymouth, MN and Candace Streeter and her husband Edwin of Plymouth, MN; by grandchildren - Melissa Udstrand; Tamara and Robert Larson; Hannah and Simone Streeter; Chloe and Christian Rekow; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred in 1982; by great grandchildren - Cole and Gillian Udstrand and by a brother - Ellsworth "Brud" Hocum.
