Ed Clark

May 6, 1918 — December 31, 1995

Ed Clark, of Maynard, died on Sunday December 31, 1995 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar at the age of 77.  Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday January 4 at 1:30 PM at the Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Louise Esbjornson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednedsday afternoon and evening  and with the family from 6 - 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Charles Edwin "Ed" Clark was born on May 6, 1918 in Pocahontas, IA to Gilbert and Thelma (Lucas) Clark. He was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Pocahontas, IA and  he attended schools and grew to adulthood  in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota.  He moved to the Maynard, MN area in 1940.  Ed was united in marriage with Gladys Loe on November 8, 1942 at the Maynard Lutheran Church.  He did farm work, worked at service stations, and was a school custodian and bus driver before moving to Minneapolis in 1960 and working for the American Can Co.  In 1968 he returned to Maynard and operated the Mobil Oil Station until retiring in 1981.  He was a member of the Maynard Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Maynard Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Charlotte Rand and her husband Harm of Chaska, MN; two sons: Thomas Clark and his wife Nancy of Maple Grove, MN and Larry Clark and his wife Bobbi of Crystal, MN; nine grandchildren: Scott Rand, Steven Rand, Jesse Clark, Eddie Clark, Larry Clark, Paul Clark, Pamela Rand Williams, Andria Clark and Jayna Clark; four great-grandchildren: Rachel Rand, Sara Rand, Melissa Williams, and Mitchell Williams; three sisters: Lorys Kimpton of Golden Valley, MN,  Carol Learmont of Carroll, IA, and Geraldine DeLong of Elko, MN; four brothers: James Clark of Young America, MN, Gale Clark of St. Louis Park, MN, Howard Clark of Windom, MN and Douglas Clark of Minnetonka, MN; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Zola Loe; and one brother, Frank Clark.
