Edith Lanes, of Montevideo, died on Thursday December 1, 1994 at the Madison Lutheran Home in Madison,Mn. at the age of 87. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday December 5 at 10:30 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Jerry Lanes officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Edith Adra (Eichelberger) Lanes was born in DuPage Twp., Illinois to Isaac and Tekla Eichelberger. She moved to the Montevideo area with her family at the age of 12 and attended Montevideo High School. She was united in marriage to Walter Lanes on January 5,1925 in Montevideo. She lived in the Montevideo area until recently becoming a resident of the Madison Lutheran Home. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and it's women's groups and was a member of The Degree of Honor and Rebekkahs.
She is survived by sons - Lee (Vickie) Lanes of Columbia, Mo; Donald (Florence) Lanes of Columbia Heights, Mn; Bruce (Casey) Lanes of Anoka,Mn; and Robert (Ione) Lanes of Montevideo; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; by a brother - Harold Eichelberger of Buffalo Lake, Mn.; by a sister - Ruth Ann Roozen of Mankato,Mn.; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Walter in 1989, by brothers - Roy and Earl Eichelberger, and by a sister - Vera Swenson.
