Edna Andrews, of Milan, MN, died on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar at the age of 96. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2007 at 1:30 PM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev Tom Opoien officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening with the family present from 4 - 6 Pm at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Edna Clarice (Allickson) Andrews was born on June 20, 1910 in Big Bend Township of Chippewa County, MN to Gulick and Alice (Ellertson) Allickson. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson, MN. She attended rural school for a short time and attended Watson Public Schools. On July 10, 1938 she was united in marriage to John C. Andrews in Watertown, SD. They farmed east of Milan for over 50 years before moving into Milan in 1998. She was a member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church and active in its women’s groups and had been a member of the Hobo’s Homemakers Club. She enjoyed cats, baking, flower gardening, crocheting, embroidery, gathering with relatives and friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children - Allen (Yvonne) Andrews of Watson, MN; Gary (Jo) Andrews of Milan, MN; Pat (Dean) Baker of New London, MN and Janet Mitteness of Benson, MN; 11 Grandchildren - Michele (Wayne) Skogrand; Michael Andrews; Amy Jo (Darrin) Groah; Gary (Nichole) Andrews; Shawn (Chris) Schrupp; Shane (Kasey) Baker; Shannon (Corey) Faber; Shellece (Jeremy) Urban; Christina (Brett) Markham; Kimberly Mitteness; and Ryan Mitteness; 12 great grandchildren - Andrew & Dustin Skogrand; Dominic, Tristan, Jacoby and Zane Groah; Wyly & Gannon Andrews; Corrie & Shayla Schrupp; and Paige Urban; by special family - Kip & Bonnie Olson; Scott Olson; Jodi, Dean & Jamie Dykema and K.C., Alycia and Kelvin C. Olson; by 2 brothers -in-law: Russell Andrews and Harold Bohm of Milan, MN; Gary Mitteness of Benson, MN and by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2000, by a grandson - Noel Mitteness in 1989, 3 sisters: Ida Ovre, Mabel Evjen and Agnes Golden and by 3 brothers: Melvin, Henry and Gilbert Allickson.
