Edna Hull, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Home Front First in Montevideo at the age of 97.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 22 at 1:30 PM at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville, Indiana.
Visitation will be held for one hour before the services at the church. Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Edna (Jerve) Hull was born October 24, 1919 to Ole and Laura (Laumb) Jerve on her parents' farm. Edna attended school at rural District #11. After helping at home she worked at Ed’s Café in Montevideo. She and her sister Lucille went to California in 1943 to help their brother convalesce after WWII injuries. She remained in California and met Miles Hull, the love of her life. They were married in California on September 30, 1945. Miles and Edna lived in Martinsville, Indiana, Colorado and Arizona but returned to Martinsville, Miles' home town.
Edna was a faithful member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Martinsville for 59 years. She served as an Elder and treasurer. She also served on United Church Women Committee and helped with Meals on Wheels. Miles died on February 10, 1992 and shortly after his death Edna moved back to Montevideo to be closer to family. Edna lived at Home Front First in Montevideo for several years.
Edna is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Laura Jerve; her husband, Miles Hull; brothers: Clarence Jerve, Marvin Jerve, Sander Jerve, Orville Jerve, Arlo Jerve, and Gordon Jerve; and sisters: Gladys Andreas, Lucille Lomason, and Avis Gallagher.
