Edna Konold, of Dawson, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at her home in Dawson at the age of 75. Funeral service was at 1:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dawson with Pastor Herbert Rotunda officiating. Visitation was Sunday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Edna Irene Konold was born in Clear Lake, SD, on October 2, 1935, to Neil and Hattie (Riley) Cox. She was baptized on April 16, 1946, in Marietta, MN. Edna, JB, as she was called, had various jobs during her fabulous life. She was manager of the Municipal Liquor Store in Clarkfield, owned B's Inn in Clarkfield and went on to be a lab tech at AMPI until she retired. To have some extra pin money, she worked part-time at Ruby's Fashion Villa in Dawson. She was very active in her community, but most of all, her church family and her strong faith in God were very important to her. She thoroughly enjoyed her lake place in Ortonville, where she spent as much time as she could, enjoying her screen porch, flowers and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her children: Gloria East of Pine River, Brenda Lynne and life partner, Don Winson of Clarkfield and Rick (Penny) Konold of Morton; 8 grandchildren: Jason, Delicia, Delsie, Kirby, Bobby Joe, David, Stephanie and Cathren and 7 great-grandchildren: Joey, Trista, Tyler, Tasha, Makayla, Haley and Makayle; special friend, Lonny Schwartz of Madison; siblings: Dorothy Jorgensen of Bellingham, Hazel (Lawrence) Findlay of Beardsley, Nelson (Darliss) Cox of Beardsley, Kathy (Maurice) Herberg of Clinton, Kitty (Harold) Ness of Frazee and Raymond (Stephanie) Cox of Redwood Falls; other family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; life partner, Waldo Bjornstad; and infant brother and sister, Marjorie Prodoehl. JB enjoyed spending time with her siblings and their families. She cherished those special occasions and family get-togethers and looked forward to the "Sisters' Weekend" each year. Her greatest treasures in life were her family and many dear and loyal friends. Her passion for life defined her. She was a very classy lady in whatever she did.
