Edna (Nelsen) Kragh, of Dawson and formerly of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson, MN at the age of 97.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2 PM at the Johnson Memorial Care Center with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating. Interment will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Edna Dahl (Nelsen) Kragh was born January 31, 1916 in Lincoln County, MN the daughter of Nels and Inger (Bornhoft) Nelsen. She was united in marriage with Harold Kragh on August 25, 1940 on the Kragh family farm in Lincoln County, MN. They made their home in Marshall until 1954 when they moved to Montevideo. From Montevideo, they moved to Dawson in 1997 after a flood damaged their home. Edna loved and was very active in her church circle in her earlier years. Edna loved playing with her grandchildren, her dog, Pierre, and playing cards with her friends. She took great pride in keeping a clean home and she was a tremendous cook.
She is survived by her son, Eldon (Pat) Kragh of Dawson, MN; two grandchildren: Sean (Pepsi) Kragh of Mounds View, MN and Joel (Nicole) Kragh of Clarkfield, MN; nine great-grandchildren: Mookie, Kaylee, Brooklyn, Emerson, Tatum, Reece; and a brother in law: Elmer Meier of San Louis Obispo, CA.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Harold in 2009; her parents; 5 sisters, Helen (Jens) Dahl, Metta (Hubert) Johnson, Laura (Roy) Barnes, Dagmar (George) Weisman, and Elva Meier; and 4 brothers, Albert (Delia) Nelsen, Harry (Fern) Nelsen, George (Frances) Nelsen, and Richard (Marvel) Nelsen.
