Edna Francis Malkow was born September 5, 1910, in Maxwell Township, Lac Qui Parle County, MN, the daughter of Louie and Ottillie (Abraham) Malkow. She was baptized on September 25, 1910, and confirmed on April 20, 1924, at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Omro Twp. where she remained a lifelong member. Edna lived and farmed with her brother, Carl, and sister, Frieda, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. The last 8 years she lived at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson where she died on Saturday, December 19, 1998, at the age of 88.
She is survived by her sister, Frieda Malkow of rural Boyd, MN; sister-in-law, Adella Malkow of Canby, MN; nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers: Otto, Herman, Carl, Edward, and Emil Malkow; and 5 sisters: Minnie Schanning, Anna Malkow, Ottillie Schanning, Hulda Lang, and Elsa Malkow.
