Edna Oppegaard died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 100. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan. Rev. Cathie Rhodes will officiate and interment will be at Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church for one hour before services on Friday. Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Edna D. Oppegaard was born October 8, 1909 at Milan, MN the daughter of Ole and Hannah (Holdorson) Moen. She married Julian Volden in 1940 and, after his death, married Lawrence Oppegaard in 1975. Edna proudly lived in Milan until the age of 92. She was an active member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church, an accomplished pianist, a gracious hostess, and was involved in many activities and projects in the Milan community. Edna lived with faith in God, love for family and appreciation of friends. She is survived by her step-sons: Larry (Mary) Oppegaard of Excelsior, MN and Alan Oppegaard (Joyce Jorgenson) of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren: Rachel Livingston, David (Amy) Oppegaard, Michael Oppegaard, David T. Oppegaard, Tia Oppegaard, and Nathan Jorgenson; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Webster; sister-in-law, Velma Moen; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Julian Volden and Lawrence Oppegaard; brothers: Harlem, Roger and Robert Moen; and sisters: Mable Anderson, Gudrun Harvey, and Olive Webster.
