Edna Quistad of Montevideo died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 87. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Anderson Funeral Home with the family from 5-7:30 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Edna Jeanette (Johnson) Quistad was born November 15, 1924 at Hazel Run, MN to Ole and Tilda (Gautefall) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Hazel Run Lutheran Church and graduated from Hanley Falls High School in 1943. On February 2, 1960, she was united in marriage to Eldor Quistad at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. To this union were born two sons, Gary and Toby. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was active in women's groups and Dorcas Circle. She worked at the schools as a cafeteria cook and later at Brookside Manor and as a greeter at Walmart. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, entertaining, playing Skip-Bo and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was proud of her Norwegian Heritage and was lucky enough to have her dream trip to Norway with her family in 1973. She is survived by her two sons: Gary (and Angie) of Andover, MN and Toby (and Kimberly) of Coon Rapids, MN; four grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, Briana and Nick; and a great granddaughter, Alexia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eldor in 1978; a sister, Gladys; and a good friend, John Josephson.
