Edwin Moseng, of Montevideo, died on Monday, September 29, 2003 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 96.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter with Rev. Charlie Bunk officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening, with the family from 5 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Edwin Elmer Moseng was born on February 5, 1907 in Baxter Township of Lac Qui Parle County to Elling and Anne (Mork) Moseng. He was baptized in 1907 at the family home in Baxter Township, was confirmed in 1921 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran of Baxter. He attended rural school at District #30. On November 23, 1929 he was united in marriage to Miranda (Ruth) Agre at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, MN. They lived and farmed in Baxter Township for many years before moving into Montevideo in 1994. In March, he moved to Brookside Manor and in June he moved to the Luther Haven Nursing Home. He was a lifelong member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Baxter and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, playing pool and horseshoes, camping, woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by onea son, Russell Moseng and his wife Susan of Dawson, MN; six grandchildren: Cindy (& Larry) Agre of Montevideo, MN, Bradley Runyon of Champlin, MN, Jodi (& Alan) Enevoldsen of Montevideo, Brent Moseng of Dawson, Jami (& Chad) Anhalt of Canby, MN and Randy & (Jody) Moseng of Dawson; eleven great-grandchildren: Ryan (& Marcy) Agre of Pella, IA, Nathan & (Carla) Agre of Burnsville, MN, Tristan (& Adrienne Gaster) Agre and Lacey Agre of Orange City, IA, Tasha and Devin Enevoldsen of Montevideo, Emily, Haley and Danielle Moseng of Dawson and Parker and Payton Anhalt of Canby, MN; one great-great-grandson, Bryant Agre of Pella, IA; one sister-in-law, Palma Moseng of Dawson; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth in 1996; one daughter, Arlene Runyon in April of 2003; one son-in-law, Rhodean (Dean) Runyon in 1998; an infant granddaughter; one brother, Oscar Moseng; and one sister, Clara Sandbakken.
