Edyth Skelly of Cambridge, MN formerly of Montevideo, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge at the age of 96.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Pastor Keith Brustuen will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, Edyth’s family requests donation in her name to Mayo Clinic Foundation.

Edyth Eleanor (Maass) Skelly was born on March 17, 1926 in New Ulm, MN to Paul Maass and Hedwig (Zieroff) Maass. Their family lived in Winthrop Minnesota for a short time before relocating to Montevideo, MN. Edyth was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She attended and graduated from Montevideo Senior High School in 1944. Following graduation she attended Nurses training in Mitchell, South Dakota. She was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps. She met Dale Skelly in Mitchell, South Dakota and they married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Sunday August 5, 1951. Edyth and Dale lived in several towns in Minnesota before settling in Rochester, MN for many years. Following retirement they resided at their summer home in Villard, Minnesota and spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Edyth lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, flowers, feeding the birds and playing cards. She especially enjoyed the beautiful sunsets at Lake Amelia. Her laughter filled a room. She always had a witty comment for all those she met.
Edyth is survived by nieces and nephews Michael (LeAnne) Christenson of Silver Lake, AK, James (Kathy) Christenson of Lakeville, MN, Patricia Christenson of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, Mary Lou Christenson of Hayden, ID, Jon (Carla) Christenson of Becker MN. She is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Dale Skelly, parents Paul and Hedwig Maass and sister Ione Evangeline Christenson.
