Edythe Claire (Mampel) Olson was born on March 17, 1906 in Ramsey Co., Mn. to Arthur and Katheryn Mampel. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul. She was united in marriage to Maurice Runo Olson on October 22, 1931 in St. Paul. She worked as a Stenographer for New York Life Insurance Co. in Minneapolis for a number of years. She was a member of St. Patrick Episcopal Church in Bloomington,Mn. and was a member of the Audobon Society.
Edythe died on Thursday October 6, 1994 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 88. She is survived by a daughter - Sally and her husband Harry Haugan of Montevideo, Mn.; by a son - Rodney and his wife Roberta Olson of Duluth, Mn.;by grandchildren - Kathleen Prindle of Eau Claire, Wi.; Nanette Hoerr of Plymouth,Mn.; David Haugan of Albertville, Mn.; Melanie Olson of Duluth,Mn.; Cathy Grover of Stillwater, Mn.; Tom Clynch of Duluth,Mn.; John Clynch of Bloomington,Mn.; and Paul Clynch of Minneapolis: 14 great grandchildren; by a sister - Helen Stromsted of Kansas City, Kansas; and by sisters-in-law - Barbara Mampel and Juanite Mampel of St. Paul, Mn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband M.Runo in 1965; by sisters - Ruth Jones, Ida Markson, and Vangie Blake; and by brothers - Stanley, Herbert, and Alvin Olson.
