Eileen G (Kvaal) Dale

June 18, 1929 — April 21, 2015

Eileen Dale of Dawson died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 85.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson, MN.  Rev. Kendal Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, from 5-7 PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 7 P.M.

Eileen Genevieve (Kvaal) Dale was born June 18, 1929 to Emil and Annie (Ritland) Kvaal in St. Paul, MN.  She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in St. Paul.  Eileen graduated from Johnson High School in St Paul in 1947.

On November 22, 1952 Eileen married the love of her life, Allen Dale.  They lived in St. Paul for awhile before moving to Dawson.  Eileen and Allen had four children: David (Nadene), Kathy, Pam and Terry (Vicky).  Together they ran Dale’s Drive-Inn from 1964 - 1978.  Later in her life, she cooked at the Legion in Dawson before retiring.

Eileen taught Sunday School at Riverside/Grace Lutheran Church.  She volunteered at the Johnson Memorial Care Center for many years, playing piano for band, church, and other events. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards and being with her family.  She enjoyed time spent with her close friends, Sharon Skordahl and Pearl Olson, celebrating birthdays together for over 50 years.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to her.

She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Allen; her children: David (Nadene) of Dawson, Kathy of Dawson, Pam of Willmar, and Terry (Vicky) of Dawson; seven grandchildren: Arron (Mike), Corey (Sarah), Jaime (Ryan), Stacy (Bob), Nathan, Lindsey (Chris), and Mark (Missy); six great grandchildren: Kayden, Jaxson, Brynn, Madison, Austin and Bennett; two brothers: Ken (Ingrid) and Emil Jr (Nita); and extended family and friends.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; brother Merlin; two grandsons: John Allen and Mickey Terek; and two sisters-in-law: Ethel and Mary Jean.
