Elaine Rimstad

Elaine Rimstad of Dawson died on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Johnson Memorial Care Center at the age of 78.

Memorial service will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Kendall Stelter officiating and interment in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7:00 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the service.

Elaine Annette (Lund) Rimstad was born to Ambrose and Edna (Ritland) Lund on April 4, 1944. She was baptized and confirmed at Riverside Church.  She graduated from Dawson High School in 1962 and moved to the Minneapolis metro area where she lived and worked for several years. Elaine married Richard Rimstad at Grace Lutheran Church on June 25,1966. They remained in Richfield and Minnetonka until they returned to Dawson in 1976. Elaine and Richard spent many months of the year visiting their daughters and their families in Arizona and California. She also enjoyed traveling with Richard to Alaska, Norway, Mexico and Caribbean Islands. Elaine loved being a Nana to her 5 grandchildren and spending time with them. She also enjoyed gardening and crocheting blankets.  Elaine was a much loved, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be dearly missed.

Elaine is survived by her husband Richard; daughter Jennifer Weckwerth of Arizona and her children Haaken and Olivia Weckwerth, daughter Janelle & Ricky Hamilton of California and their children Xavier, Maxwell & Renee Hamilton; siblings: Roger (Hilde) Lund of New  Ulm and Janice (Gene) Hofmann of Dawson; sister-in-law, Linda (Lowell) Barie of Rosemount; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents: Ambrose and Edna Lund and in-laws: Alvin and Genevieve Rimstad.
