Elaine June (Byers) Sennes

June 1, 1927 — September 12, 2014

Elaine Sennes of Montevideo and formerly of Mankato died Friday, September 12, 2014 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, MN at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Kathy Skoglund will officiate and burial will be at 3:00 PM at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour before the services at the church with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Elaine June (Byers) Youngck Sennes was born June 1, 1927 the daughter of Roy and Leona (Rupp) Byers in Des Moines River Township of Murray County, MN.  After graduation from Westbrook High School in 1945, she attended Lamberton Teachers Training Department at Lamberton, MN.  She taught rural school for two years.  Elaine was united in marriage with Sterling Youngck on June 15, 1948.  They farmed near Westbrook until October of 1957 when they moved to St. Paul, MN.  Sterling passed away May 20, 1960.  She married Glenn Sennes on August 2, 1969.  They made their home at Onalaska, WI where she worked at the Bank of Onalaska until her retirement.  In October of 1998, they moved to Mankato, MN where they resided at Old Main Retirement Village.  Glenn passed away February 25, 2003.  She moved to Montevideo, MN in December of 2009 where she lived at Copper Glenn, Brookside Manor, and Luther Haven Nursing Home.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  She loved to travel taking several bus tours in the US and had made trips to Europe, Alaska, and Hawaii.  Some of her favorite pastimes were puzzles and word searches.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley (Harvey) Jans of Montevideo, MN; nieces: Kristie (Thomas) Brusven of Montevideo, MN, Kathy Jans of Apple Valley, MN and Kerri Jans of Eden Prairie, MN; a nephew, Dennis (Kristin) Jans of St. Bonifacius, MN; great-nieces: Patricia Brusven of Minneapolis, MN, Emily (David) Laffrezen of Wabasha, MN and Kathryn Jans of St. Bonifacious, MN; a great-nephew, Mitchell Jans of St. Bonifacius, MN; and a sister-in-law, Marlys Youngck of Green Valley, AZ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Sterling Youngck and Glenn Sennes; and a brother, LeRoy Byers.
