Eleanor Doebbert, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, September 29, 1998 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 82.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 1, 1998 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Lois Knutson officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Eleanor Gladys (Jensen) Doebbert was born on March 20, 1916 in Greenville, IA to Emil and Gertrude (Fahleen) Jensen. She grew up in Greenville, IA, Maynard, MN and graduated from Rossie High School in Rossie, IA in 1934. After a short time in Minneapolis, she has lived most of her adult life in the Montevideo area. She was united in marriage to Arnold Doebbert on January 2, 1940 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She worked at the canning factory for a short time and worked as a sales clerk at the Ben Franklin Store for over 15 years before retiring in 1976. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and a member of its world mission circle. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past 10 years.
She is survived by one son, Larry Doebbert of Montevideo; one daughter, Diane Berglund and her husband Gerald of Montevideo; three grandchildren: Connie Hendershot of Montevideo, Angela Peters and her husband Duane of North Mankato, MN and Scott Berglund of Montevideo; as well as by 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold in 1990; one granddaughter, Sheri Doebbert; one brother, Emery Jensen; and one sister, Margaret Shields.
