Elizabeth (Bette) Styrbicky of Montevideo died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 77.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday June 19, 2015 from 6 -8 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Elizabeth Lee Styrbicky was born on June 9, 1938 in Montevideo, MN to Milford and Phyllis (Haaland) Nordby.  She was baptized and confirmed  at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She attended school in Montevideo.  On August 15, 1954 Elizabeth was united in marriage to Arnold Styrbicky.  They had four children together.  Bette and Arnie lived on the Tony and Agnes Strybicky farm following their marriage.  They also lived in Willmar and Terra Haute, IN before finally moving back to Montevideo in 1975.

Bette was a homemaker and loved being a mother and caring for others. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her family remembers Bette as a wonderful baker and cook.  She was a member of VFW and American Legion Auxiliary as well as Homemakers club.  She also loved to take care of her flower garden, her dogs, and playing bingo. Bette and Arnie were able to spend 25 years together in retirement and enjoyed traveling by camper visiting many places, making friends no matter where they went and sharing stories of their travel together.  Family remembers that Bette just enjoyed having fun and being with family and friends.

Elizabeth is survived by her children and their families: Robert Styrbicky, Lori (Gary) Meyer, both of Montevideo and Linda (James) Hocum of Prinsburg, MN; seven grandchildren: Brandon Cobb and fiancé Bea, Jessica (Devin) Hanson, Adam(Laura) Hocum, Jason Hocum, Katie (Nicholas) Koenen, Drew Meyer, and Preston Meyer; two  great grandchildren: Chase Hanson and Ryan Hanson; two sisters Nancy(Bill) Kashmark of Montevideo and Marcia(Tom) Frazier of Spring Lake Park, MN; and a brother-in-law, Ken Styrbicky of Danvers, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milford and Phyllis Nordby, her husband, Arnold  in 2012, a son, Michael ; a sister Terry Nordby and a brother Craig Nordby.
