Ella Johnson was born on August 4, 1903 in Mandt Township to Ole and Karen (Jerve) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at Mandt Lutheran Church and attended school in District #31. On August 27, 1924 Ella was united in marriage with Roy C. Johnson at Mandt Lutheran Church. To that union four children were born: Ione, Lyle, Barbara, and Yvonne.
Ella enjoyed cooking and worked in Milan and Montevideo as a restaurant cook. She also assisted her husband, Roy, in his custodial work at Kviteseid Church. She was a member of the Hobo Club, Kviteseid Ladies Aid, and enjoyed fishing and camping and traveling with their camping trailer. Ella had been a resident of the Appleton Nursing Home for the past five years.
She is survived by her daughters: Ione Lanes and her husband Robert of Montevideo, Barbara Dalen and her husband Ernie of Milan, and Yvonne Thompson and her husband Dean of Montevideo; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Roy; and son, Lyle.
Ella died December 6, 1993 at the Appleton Nursing Home at the age of 90. May her memory be blessed.
